The girl who fought the lion
It was the year 1928 A.D. one evening, Jhaverchand Meghani, along with his friend poet Dulabhaya Kaag was sitting in the Khajuri Ness-tribal huts of nomads in the foothills of Girnar, enjoying the invitation by warm-hearted people. The place was surrounded by forests of Asiatic ferocious lions. Suddenly Meghani and others heard an angry scream of a nomadic girl named ‘Hirbai’ who was running behind a roaring lion with a huge stick in her hand, shouting that the lion scooped and stretched her calf named ‘Hiral’ from their herd. The lion could not withstand the valour of the brave girl and had to escape immediately. The furious girl seemed like the Lord of Death to the lion himself.
