TARS is one of four former U.S. Marine Corps tactical robots along with PLEX, CASE and KIPP featured in the Interstellar universe.
The purpose of this exercise was to replicate the scene from interstellar and examine the materials, light and shadows.
A few more modifications and features were added to this concept art.
